Heating engineer in Eastbourne

- 5 million pounds public liability
- Limited company since 2006

In the trade since 1989
Working in commercial plumbing and heating since 1989. Plant rooms, tank rooms, pipework, the mechanical services behind the walls of a building that most people never think about.
The standard the commercial side runs at, with risk assessments, method statements and working around a building that has to stay open, does not get switched off in a house.

More than boilers
A lot of heating work is not a new boiler. It is a radiator that never gets hot, a cylinder on its way out, or controls nobody in the house has ever understood.
- Boiler servicing and repair, with the part and labour priced before it goes on
- Radiators, thermostatic valves, zone valves and room thermostats
- Vented and unvented cylinders, immersions, pumps and pressure problems
- Leaks, taps, valves and outside taps
- The first and second fix on a bathroom or kitchen
- Landlord gas safety certificates
Plant rooms and pipework
Plant rooms, commercial boilers, tank rooms, fan coil units, heating and chilled pipework, suspended drainage and dry risers, for care homes, schools, leisure centres, offices and factories. Taken on directly and as a subcontractor to mechanical contractors.
Where and when
Based in Eastbourne, with most of the domestic work here and in Polegate, Willingdon, Hailsham, Bexhill, Lewes and Brighton. Larger commercial work travels across the South East and into London.
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm, with Saturdays by arrangement. This is a heating and plumbing business, not a handyman service.

Questions people ask first
Do you do landlord gas safety certificates?
Yes. Gas Safe registration covers the domestic gas work, and the certificate is issued at the visit.
How often should a boiler be serviced?
Once a year. It keeps most manufacturer warranties valid, and it is when the parts that are quietly failing get caught, which is cheaper than a breakdown in winter.
Do you do handyman work or general building?
No. This is a heating and plumbing business. If you need a handyman you are better served by somebody who does that properly, and we would rather say so than take the job.
Which areas do you cover?
Eastbourne, Polegate, Hailsham, Willingdon, Bexhill, Lewes and Brighton for domestic work. Larger commercial jobs go across the South East and into London.
Do you only do domestic work?
No. We do commercial work too: plant rooms, commercial boilers, tank rooms, fan coil units, heating and chilled pipework and drainage for care homes, retirement homes, schools, leisure centres, offices and factories. The commercial side has been the backbone of the business since 1989.
In their words
We would like to confirm that Steve Harrison has carried out Mechanical service work for us for a number of years and would have no hesitation in recommending him to prospective clients. We have always found him to be trustworthy, reliable and his work is to a high standard
Steve was recommended to me by a friend as I was converting an under stairs cupboard into a cloakroom and toilet and I needed someone friendly and reliable to carry out the plumbing work. I was very impressed with Steve's attitude as nothing was too much trouble and he explained what needed to be done prior to him starting and what parts I needed to supply and what parts he would provide.
